PDA synchronisation with Lotus Notes

System and software requirements for EasySync Pro v4.2.5

System requirements:

  • Microsoft Windows Vista/2000 SP4/XP SP1
  • IBM PC compatible computer, Pentium or higher
  • 80 MB free hard disk space
  • Mobile device with appropriate connectivity

Software requirements

For Pocket PC devices:

  • Microsoft Pocket PC 2000/2002/2003

For SmartPhones/Treo 700w:

  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0/6

For Palm III series/V series/VII series/M series, i705, Zire 21/31/71/72:

  • Palm O/S platform

Before you begin

ActiveSync Configuration

  1. Run Microsoft ActiveSync.
  2. Connect your PDA device to your computer and wait until the Connected. Synchronized message appears.

  3. From the Tools menu:
    • Select Options

    4. No profiles have been created. To create a new profile, use the Mail icon in the Control Panel.

  4. Select Ok if the above message appears.

    • Ensure all boxes are unchecked
    • Select Ok

Installing EasySync Pro v4.2.5

Before you begin

 

  1. Run EasySync Pro v4.2.5 software.
  2. Select Next to continue.
  3. Select "I accept the terms in the licence agreement".
  4. Select Next to continue.

  5. Select Palm OS Devices, Pocket PC Devices and/or Microsoft Smartphone Mobile 5.0 from the list .
  6. Select Next to continue.
  7. Select Install and wait while the installation completes.
  8. Select Finish.

Synchronising your PDA with Lotus Notes

Changing your notes.ini setting

  1. Select IBM Lotus Easy Sync Pro on your desktop.

  2. Select Notes.
  3. Select Configure.

  5. Navigate to: Documents and Settings\{your username}\Local Settings\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data\notes.ini.
  6. Select Open.
  7. Select Ok to save these settings.
  8. Close EasySync Pro.

Synchronising your PDA

  1. Restart EasySync Pro.

  2. From the Profile menu:
    1. Select Current Profile Settings.

  3. From the Filters tab:
    1. Select Calendar.
    2. Select Field Content from the Filter Type dropdown list.
    3. Select the Date tab.
    4. Select All Records.

  4. Set the desired date range. This will speed up the synchronisation process.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Select Ok to save these settings.

  7. Select which items to synchronise from the Available Items list.
  8. Select Synchronize. The initial process can take over an hour if everything is selected. Subsequent synchronisations will take 5-20 minutes.

  9. Once the synchronisation has been completed, select Close.

 

Note: Email is the slowest component to synchronise.
