At present, the leasing facility is restricted to the following categories of equipment -
- Desktop PCs (IBM-type and Apple-based)
- Notebook Computers (IBM-type and Apple-based)
- Printers (Laser and Inkjet)
- Servers
- Photocopiers
Equipment must be sourced from one of the approved suppliers and must conform to a minimum configuration as set by the ITS Division.
UNITAC SOE policy
The university has an SOE (standard operating environment) policy as developed by the ITS Division in conjunction with Monash Procurement. The policy has been approved by the UNiversty IT Advisory C mommittee (UNITAC).

Software
The supplier is responsible for loading the operating system and some standard Monash software onto PCs and notebooks provided under the leasing facility.
Monash provides each supplier with an SOE that contains an image of the operating system plus a range of application products (MS Office, Netscape etc.) for which Monash has a site licence. In some circumstances, a Cost Centre can provide the supplier with their own SOE image for loading.
Macquarie IT does not cover the lease of software other than the operating system. Software loaded onto PCs and notebooks must be covered under a university site licence or purchased directly by the Cost Centre.
