How can I use the Monash Address Book (Monash Directory) in Mozilla Thunderbird?

This document will guide you through the set up for using the Monash Address Book. This will allow you can search the entire Monash Directory for staff email addresses. Please see the main guides page for a list of other categories.

NOTE: For security reasons, this service is only available to:

  • Users on a Monash Campus.
  • Home users of the Monash Dial up service.
  • Home users with a VPN (Virtual Private Network) Client installed.

Configuring the Monash Address Book

To begin configuring the Address Book, Open Thunderbird:

  1. Go to Tools > Options and select Composition
  2. Under Address Autocompletion select Local Address Books and Directory Server:
  3. Press the Edit Directories button, and select ADD

  1. In the Directory Server Properties window, fill in the fields as shown below and press OK:

  1. Press OK again to close the Options window.

The Monash Address Book account should now be set up.
