What is RSS?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a format designed for sharing web
content. RSS allows you to receive information that you are interested
in, in real time, updated automatically. For example, an RSS feed can
appear as a rolling tickertape of information at the bottom of your browser.
Using RSS feeds
To begin using RSS feeds you will need a news reader. There are many
different news readers, some of which are accessed using a browser (requires
a plugin), and some of which are downloadable applications. Each type
of news reader will allow you to display and receive the RSS feeds you
want.
While Monash University does not recommend a particular news reader, there are some RSS reader options that you could explore.
